Design-in-Business strategy seminar

Developing strategic design approaches

Design, and strategic design thinking, are now key factors in the development of business strategy in many organisations. As a result, design managers and designers now need to re-think both the processes of managing design, and the way in which they communicate the strategic value of design.

Designers and design managers need to learn to evolve design from a service/support/aesthetic activity to a core, strategic business role.

They need to learn how to become credible, trusted, strategic business partners and to think and speak about Design in business terms.

This free seminar will cover:

  • how design has a strategic function in the real world of business
  • how designers can move from production projects to strategic projects
  • integrating design processes with business processes.

Design-in-Business strategy workshops

The free seminar will also outline a program of free workshops that give designers the skills needed to develop, present and implement a Design-in-Business strategy.

Through funding from Enterprise Connect the dbc is able to offer 15 free places for studio owners/design managers to participate in the program.

The program and selection criteria will be outlined at the seminar.

The dbc and the South Eastern Business Network will identify 30 SMEs in the Greater Dandenong area and align each of the 15 studios with two designated SMEs.
